Welcome to Brood Antenatal Classes - Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Brood is delighted to offer you our comprehensive and empowering antenatal course, designed to provide you with the knowledge and support you need as you prepare for the arrival of your precious baby.
Over the course of 6 sessions, led by a dedicated midwife, you will have the opportunity to meet and connect with like-minded individuals who are on the same journey as you. The group setting allows for shared experiences and a supportive learning environment.
Our course covers a wide range of topics to ensure that you feel equipped and confident as you approach childbirth. We start by delving into the physiology of labour and birth, giving you a deeper understanding of the process and what to expect. This knowledge will enable you to approach childbirth with a sense of empowerment and control.
We also explore the various types of sensations that you may experience during labour and birth. By understanding these sensations, you can better prepare yourself mentally and physically for the challenges ahead. We provide you with techniques and strategies to support yourself throughout childbirth, giving you the tools to cope with the journey.
Pain management options are thoroughly discussed, as we believe in providing a comprehensive overview so that you can make informed decisions that align with your preferences and values. From natural pain relief techniques to medical interventions, we ensure that you have a complete understanding of the options available to you.
Care and monitoring in different birth settings are explored, allowing you to make informed choices about where and how you would like to birth your baby. We also delve into how to maximise your maternity healthcare, ensuring you get the most out of your experience and have your needs met.
Different types of birth, including vaginal delivery and Cesarean section, are discussed in detail, providing you with a well-rounded understanding of your options. We support you in making decisions about feeding your baby, offering guidance and information to help you choose what is best for you and your little one and how to find success in whichever route you to choose to take.
Breastfeeding can support the early bonding experience and provides numerous benefits for both you and your baby. Our course covers the 4 steps to give yourself the best chance of breastfeeding success, giving you the tools and knowledge to establish and maintain a successful breastfeeding relationship.
In addition, we offer support in creating your birth preferences, ensuring that your wishes and expectations are communicated effectively to your healthcare team. We want you to feel in control throughout your entire journey, from pregnancy to postpartum. Together we will discuss and formulate a postnatal plan that encompasses ways to; prepare so that stress from additional chores is minimised, protect and monitor your mental health and wellbeing, and how to remain connected as a couple and lead your new family as a team.
Our course also incorporates a full hypnobirthing program. Hypnobirthing is a safe and effective technique which builds trust and confidence in our bodies to give birth. We provide you with scripts, audios, and personalised support to minimise any fears or anxieties associated with birth. By replacing fear with confidence, we aim to create a positive and calm birth experience for you and your baby.
Further enhancing your experience, our optimising birth workshop includes various techniques such as massage, aromatherapy, positions and movement in labour, breath work, and tips to facilitate your baby's change of position. These tools and practices are designed to support you throughout the birthing process and provide you with a positive and empowering experience.
Recognising the importance of birth partners, we ensure they receive the information and support they need to be a valuable source of comfort and assistance during labour and birth. We believe that having a supportive birth partner can make a significant difference in the birthing experience.
Throughout the course, we provide a comprehensive workbook that serves as a valuable resource and reference guide. This workbook allows you to take notes, reflect on your learning, and refer back to the information at any time.
At the end of the course, our aim is for you to feel fully prepared, confident, and calm as you embark on the incredible journey of meeting your baby. We want you to approach childbirth, armed with the knowledge and tools that will make your experience a positive and memorable one.
Join our antenatal course and be part of a supportive community as you navigate this incredible journey into parenthood. We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with the knowledge, support, and positivity you deserve.
